NECC Community-Wide Asset Initiative The Northeast Community Challenge Coalition Community-Wide Asset Initiative, will equip individuals, organizations and communities to promote positive youth development throughout our community. Through the NECC Asset initiative, trainings will be provided for all sectors of the community. NECC Youth Coalition The mission of the NECC Youth Coalition is to provide educational trainings and resources to promote positive youth development and healthy lifestyles for children, youth, families and the communities as a whole. Teen Leadership Conference The NECC Teen Leadership Conference focuses on developing our youth's leadership potential by teaching leadership dynamics, understanding diversity, conflict resolution, team building, problem solving, goal setting, decision making, and group dynamics. Community-wide Red Ribbon Initiative The goal of the Red Ribbon Celebration is to mobilize every sector of the community to unite in changing our community's social norms, resulting in a society where illegal use of drugs and alcohol is not acceptable. Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws & Combating Illegal Drug Use Federal Initiative The Coalition supports this particular federal initiative through numerous educational resources and trainings. Community Resource Directory Provides the community with educational and community resources to promote healthy development throughout the life span. NECC Resource Library Provides educational and community resources on areas such as; asset building ideas for all sectors of the community, alcohol and drug prevention and violence prevention. These resources range from prenatal development through late adulthood. Howard Barns Memorial Scholarship Provides several scholarships to graduating seniors who have worked with the NECC Youth Coalition to promote positive youth development. NECC Community Press Column Provides educational information and resources to the community and includes parenting tips for building developmental assets for children and youth. Parent to Parent and Other Parent Training Provides the community with educational and community resources to promote healthy development throughout the life span. Organizations representing the NECC Community Board offer parent education programs throughout the year that provide parents with parenting tips and skills. |
